Vidi speciosam
Text & Translation: Vidi speciosam -- Quae est ista
Vidi speciosam sicut columbam ascendentem
desuper rivos aquarum, cuius inaestimabilis
odor erat nimis in vestimentis eius:
et sicut dies verni circumdabant eam
flores rosarum et lilia convallium.
Quae est ista quae ascendit per desertum
sicut virgula fumi, ex aromatibus myrrhae
et thuris?
Et sicut dies verni circumdabant eam
flores rosarum et lilia convallium.
I saw her, beautiful as a dove, ascending from above
streams of water, she whose sweet fragrance
was above price in garments deliciously perfumed,
and like a spring day, she was surrounded
by roses and lilies of the valley.
Who is she that has gone up from the desert,
like a column of smoke laden with the perfumes of myrrh
and frankincense?
And like a spring day, she was surrounded
by roses and lilies of the valley.
